Here it is, Friday again, and time to get your whoop whoop on! Are you ready?
I've mostly been working on the remodeling job in my guest room this week - it's coming along pretty well.
|Here's how it looked on Monday...|
|And here's what it looks like today!|
I had another huge whoop whoop today - Emmy went down without a squeak, put herself to sleep, and slept for two hours at naptime!! Woohoo!! That let me do a little sewing on a project for a friend...
My friend came to me Sunday, asking if I could take a look at a tutorial for a weighted blanket that her daughter asked her to make. Her daughter teaches special ed, and needs one for an autistic child in her class. My friend was having trouble understanding the tutorial, and when I looked at it, I understood why - very few pictures, not-so-clear instructions - so I told her I'd see what I could find on the web that might be easier to work with. After many hours of research, I found that there were a lot of tutorials with a little bit of info in each, but no one great tutorial. So I decided to put one together for her.
I know it doesn't look like much, but this is the start of a completely adjustable weighted blanket that can be made for a minimal investment by even a beginning seamstress. I'm writing a tutorial as I go that will hopefully help other folks who need one, too. So far it's working out just as I had hoped, but tomorrow should prove whether it works or not - I'll finish up the pockets and load the weights in. Keep your fingers crossed!
And here's a giggle for you - during naptime, while I was sitting there thinking how lovely silence is, I heard footsteps on the stairwell. (Lilli naps downstairs.) I hollered down for her to get back in bed. More silence, then footsteps again. And this is what appeared in the doorway...
I asked her what was on her face, and she responded by asking me what time her alarm clock was set for. I asked her if she had been in my makeup, and she asked again what time her alarm was set for. Once more I asked about the makeup, and she said that she tried to wash it off, and what time was her alarm clock set for? So apparently, this is what staying in bed and leaving Nana's stuff alone during naptime looks like..... It was very hard not to laugh until she went back to bed!
So that's what I'm whooping about this week!
And now it's your turn!
What's made you giddy with joy this week?
What accomplishments do you have to share?
Link up and join in - we want to whoop with you!!
The party will stay open until Sunday night -
